Cornerstone was appointed to take over as Contract Administrators on the project, following the previous Contractor going into Administration part way though the construction phase. At the time of our appointment, the build was only at the superstructure stage.
The Role
The priority was to have a new Contractor appointed, and this was undertaken on a negotiation basis. We worked closely with the incumbent contractor to assess the existing work, perform any rectification, then progress with the construction in a systematic method. Working with the Contractor and the Client, we oversaw redesign of internal areas to meet the Client’s requirements and brief. Our involvement continued through to Practical Completion and handover.
Project Outcomes
The final look and quality of the home met the standard required by the Client.
The Client was able to operate the property as a Care Home, following a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.
